North Cascades National Park

Here are some pictures from our visit to North Cascades National Park. We lost Brian after about a week and a half of traveling. Nate and I continued on to the Mt. Baker area where we didn't get the best weather and then to Ross Lake, which was incredible!

Mt. Shuksan! It was in and out of the clouds (mostly in) but we got a couple of decent looks at it. Possible future climbing destination!

Closer view of Shuksan's Hanging Glacier.

We hiked to the summit of Winchester Mt. from the Twin Lakes campground. Again, a lot of clouds but what a beautiful area. Can't wait to return.

From the Mt Baker area we traveled and camped at the Newhalem Campground then traveled on to Ross Lake. After taking the last available parking space, we hiked down to Ross Lake where we were picked up and taxied about 12 miles up the lake to the Lightning Creek campground.

First a quick stop at Diablo Lake.

We spent two nights at the Lightning Creek campground and hiked to the summit of Desolation Peak. To me, this was the highlight of our almost month-long trip.
