Big hiking weekend in Nevada and Arizona. I met my friend Aaron and our main mission was to bag Humphreys Peak, the Arizona state highpoint outside of Flagstaff. Our plan was to fly into Vegas and meet up. I got there a day early and hiked Northshore Peak near Lake Mead.

Aaron's flight got delayed and we made it to Flagstaff pretty light that night. Humphreys was our target the next day. This is a 10 mile hike with about 3500 ft of elevation gain.
The next day we were off on a quest to add to Aaron's county highpoint totals. We chose a good peak, Hualapai, outside of Kingman, Arizona. A challenging hike considering what we did the previous day. The final summit climb is a bit of a scramble. Craziest thing was the lady bugs on top. Millions of them it seemed. And we saw a tarantula on the way back.
Final day of hiking was Red Rock Canyon outside of Vegas. This area is awesome. It was my second time there in 2017. Lots of tricky off trail scrambling here.
