St. Louis Peak

Fairly long hike in the Byers Peak Wilderness area to St. Louis Peak. Started across from St. Louis Lake trailhead south of Fraser. This was a target basically just because of the St. Louis name. The below pic is the St. Louis Divide trail which is fairly easy walking once you get up to about 12,000 feet.

The hike started with a 3 mile gravel road hike before the actual trail starts. There is a bike rack at the end of the road but there is a section of the road washed out. Would have been a better plan to bring the bike but not sure I could have crossed the washed out section.

I worked the right side of this stream to try and find a way over, back to the road and to keep my feet dry. Almost as soon as I did, I reached the end of the road and a bridge took me back over to the other side again.

There were a lot of trail signs but the mileages didn't always add up. The distance to the peak ended up being almost exactly what my GPS measured. 6.9 miles vs 6.83.
