Took a 6 mile hike through Golden Gate Canyon State Park to the summit of Windy Peak. Started from the Rifleman Phillips trailhead on Gap Road. From there Sally and I took the Buffalo Trail down into the Forgotten Valley and then the Mountain Lion trail up to the Windy Peak trail. Pretty gentle slopes for the most part but we lost probably 650 feet of elevation before we started climbing to the peak. No wind on Windy Peak this day, and good views of the surrounding area.
