Dream Lake in the morning.
Keith and Jeremy arrived on Friday night and we spent Saturday in the Longmont/Boulder area.
Saturday we headed toward Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
We drove to the Bear Lake trailhead and followed the trail past Bear Lake to Dream Lake and finally Emerald Lake. Our weather was cloudy and unfortunately the visibility wasn't great. It started to rain as we turned to head toward Lake Haiyaha so we headed back to the truck.
Still too early to check in to our campsite, so we headed up Trail Ridge Road and actually drove up above the bad weather, for a while. Walking out to the mushroom rocks at the Rock Cut pull off we got pelted with hail.
Next we visited Grubsteak in Estes Park for some burgers and killed some more time prior to heading back to RMNP to set up our campsite.
Our campsite was about as good as we could have hoped for: isolated with great views of the park and Longs Peak.
