Joshua Tree National Park

Our trip to Joshua Tree was a little short.  We hiked around the cholla cactus gardens and then up Ryan Mt but then had trouble parking other places we wanted to go.  Wasn't sure what to think.  The park seemed crowded on the north side and empty in the south.  The visitor centers were not open due to the government shutdown and there was no one there to collect admission fees which may have contributed to why it was so crowded.

What we saw was nice but didn't get a chance to explore as much as I would have liked.  The weather was cold and windy in the 30s.
