Nate sitting on top of Indian Trail Ridge, the Hermosa Creek Wilderness High Point
Nate and I stayed in Durango the previous night and headed up to the La Plata Canyon road after getting coffee.
The hike started from near the end of the road which goes to Kennebec Pass. We parked at the old Kennebec mine entrance and headed up the road, then the Highline Trail.
Once on top we were visited by a pika. Also, there were some pretty elaborately constructed wind breaks at the top.
Just a little over 5 miles total. Beautiful views the whole way!
