Bison Peak/Lost Creek Wilderness

We reached the Lost Creek Wilderness Friday night to camp and prepare to climb Bison Peak the following morning.   We set up camp at the Lost Creek Campground.  We were actually able to have a camp fire!

We hit the trail just after 7AM the next morning for a long 7 mile approach to Bison Peak.  We gained only about 1000 feet over the first 5 miles which made for relatively flat and easy walking.  Most of the vertical gain was saved for the last 2 miles.

The summit approach was a broad open area with huge rocks.

On the way down we took a short excursion to Bison View Peak not far off of the trail.
